Welcome, Cucuku!

Who Is Bu Ruyu?

Cucuruyu’s mascot is a grandmother duck. Although the name suggests a chicken, a duck was chosen because ducks and chickens are closely related. She is depicted as a kind grandmother caring for baby chicks, symbolising warmth, care, and a sense of family beyond blood relations. The grandmother figure reflects how grandparents often care for us and create nostalgic food memories!

This packaging takes inspiration from nostalgic colouring books, filled with intricate details, bright colours, and a fairytale charm that many Gen X grew up enjoying. The playful, nature-inspired visuals are paired with the Jagung Manis flavour, a sweet corn taste loved by Indonesian children everywhere.

With corn patterns highlighting the main ingredient, the design feels like a familiar childhood treat; comforting, fun, and instantly recognisable, just like a favourite snack you never get tired.

Bu Ruyu’s Mission?

While one of the obvious goals for Bu Ruyu is to ensure her cucu’s are well fed, many Indonesians live abroad and miss the simple taste of their homes. Bu Ruyu open her wings to a warm embrace, making easy and accesible instant noodles for her Cucu to enjoy! Nostalgic and a well known flavour variety instant noodles. Bu Ruyu hopes by reminding her cucu, from where ever they are, that they can still relish the taste of home and childhood.

Didi

Her name comes from the “mimi-mimi” sound cartoons make when they sleep. True to her name, she’s the sleepiest of them all!

Mimi

Dono

His name is inspired by the Indonesian word dongo, meaning “dumb.” Dono is always a little confused about what’s going on and tends to be slower than the rest.
